Panther baseball wins home opener against Mustangs

The Dakota Valley boys baseball team played their 2nd game of the spring high school season on Friday, April 5 at home. They went up against the Mustangs of Tri-Valley, from Colton, SD, and were victorious by a final score of 10-7.

Husky track and field finish strong in Vermillion

After not being able to host their home invite on April 2 due to weather conditions, the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies travelled to Vermillion for their invite on April 4. Lauren McDermott had a good showing, placing 2nd in the 300m Hurdles and 3rd place in the 100m Hurdles.

Hughes to attend Youth Leadership Forum

Dakota Valley senior Karlee Hughes earned the honorable distinction to attend the 2024 Youth Leadership Forum at Northern State University from June 2-6, 2024. Many from across South Dakota applied and over 100 were interviewed with Hughes making the final cut.

Top SD HS basketball players return to Sanford Pentagon

The best senior girls and boys high school basketball players in South Dakota will meet at the Sanford Pentagon for the 2024 SD All Star Games on April 19 The boys game starts at 6 p.m. and the girls game begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Dakota Valley jazz band claims first in Norfolk

Atrophycamehomewith the Panther high school jazz band from Norfolk, NE on Tuesday, March 26 as Dakota Valley claimed 1st prize in the Level II band category. They also received a Superior plus rating per band director Daryl Jessen in what was a very successful day for DV.

Former South Dakota American Legion Post #319 Commander Michael Kumm passed the torch to 2024 Commander Timothy Waugh.
