Gunderson, McCullough, Munch shatter records

School records fell at the Dakota Valley home track meet on Tuesday, April 23. It was also senior night where DV 12th graders met at the 50-yard-line, of the football field, at the midpoint of the meet to be honored for their hard work in the sport.

Lady Panthers play in DAK-XII tournament

The DAK-XII conference tournament for softball happened on Monday, April 22. The Panthers entered the quarterfinals as a #5 seed, and avoided the early morning play-in rounds, to face off against #4 seed West Central. The Trojans came into the tourney undefeated and were the 2023 Class A state softball champions. However, the Panthers rose to the challenge in a good game that ended in a DV loss by a score of 0-4.

Dakota Valley dominates ballfield against Scotland/Menno

The Dakota Valley boys baseball team were the away squad for their game on Monday, April 22 versus Scotland/Menno. There were no runs scored early in the contest, but by the 3rd inning the Panther bats got hot enroute to a 12-1 victory.

Girls golf team ties for 4th at home meet

The Panther girls golf crew were in a field of 10 teams at their home meet on Monday, April 22. The Dakota Valley Girls Golf Invite took place at Two Rivers Golf Course in Dakota Dunes.

Dakota Valley Panther baseball remains undefeated

SophomoreGradyRamos pitched a complete game for the Panther baseball team on Sunday, April 21 when they took on Canistota/Freeman in an away contest. Ramos pitched all 5 innings of the victory that had Dakota Valley on top by a score of 12-2.

Lady Panthers struggle against Madison pitcher

Strong winds and dusty conditions were present for the Dakota Valley softball team’s away game in Madison on Monday, April 15. It was a tight contest to start, but the Panthers fell 0-9 to a tough DAK XII opponent in the Bulldogs.

DV Panther girls tie for 1st place at Canton Invite

The Panther boys and girls had great success at the Canton Invite for track and field on Monday, April 15. Many top finishes and personal records were secured by the Dakota Valley athletes.

Harlan named High School Art Teacher of the Year

The South Dakota Art Education Association (SDAEA) recently announced their winners for 2024 Art Teachers of the Year and Dakota Valley’s Demi Harlan was one of the recipients. Harlan was named the 2024 High School Art Teacher of the Year for South Dakota.

Betsworth takes 1st place

The Panther girls golf team was at Beresford on Tuesday, April 9 for the first meet of the season. Dakota Valley scored well with 8th grader Katie Betsworth taking 1st place individually and the varsity team placing 3rd out of the 5 schools in attendance.

Dakota Valley Baseball run rules two opponents

At home on Monday, April 6 the Panther baseball team played 6 innings on their way to a victory. Thanks to the 10 run rule and strong offense by Dakota Valley, they defeated the Beresford/Alcester-Hudson (BAH) Black Sox by a score of 13-3.
